At All-Star Rent a Van, we have a large fleet of rental vans in order to satisfy our customer needs, but that begs the question, how do you decide which one fits your needs better?
The simplest answer is the number of passengers you want to transport, but there are other things you’ll want to keep in mind when making that choice.
With that in mind, we’ve crafted this small guide to help you figure out what rental van is the best for your needs.
Determine Your Group Size
As we mentioned before, the easiest way to figure which van you should get is by the size of your group and how much luggage you’re carrying.
- 8-11 Passenger Vans: This van size is ideal for small groups or large families planning to visit popular San Diego destinations like the San Diego Zoo or Balboa Park or just traveling around the city.
- 12-15 Passenger Vans: Perfect for larger groups, such as sports teams, church groups, or extended families heading to the beaches or theme parks.
At All-Star Rent a Van, we offer vans for 11, 12 and 15 passengers, making us the best choice whether you’re a visitor looking to exlore the city, or a local looking to transport a large group.
Consider Your Luggage and Equipment
Always keep in mind just how much luggage or equipment you’re transporting, and plan around it. Maybe your group isn’t that large, but you have a lot of gear to carry, or maybe you just want to have plenty of space for everyone and their things.
Regardless of the reason, you want to take into consideration how many things you’re taking with you, and what kind of things they are.
If you’re just traveling or transporting a group to a local event, then any of our vans will do the trick, as they’re all spacious and provide plenty of storage room.
If you’re visiting one of San Diego’s beautiful beaches, or looking to spend a weekend in the nearby mountains, then you should consider a van with a roof rack to transport your equiment more easily.
Driving Experience
All of our vans can have up to two additional drivers, so this is something you should definitely consider.
When renting a van, you want to make sure all of your additional drivers are comfortable with the van’s features. For reference, our fleet is made out of Ford Sprinters and Transits, so make sure to keep this in mind when you’re renting our vans.
Remember: Your additional drivers should also be over 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have proof of insurance.
Budget
Once you’ve made sure your rental van can fit all your passengers and their gear and that you know the drivers will be comfortable with it, then you should consider the budget.
We offer competitive pricing to match San Diego standards, but it’s still important to plan ahead to ensure that your rental falls within your financial plan.
At Rent a Van, we accept cash, credit, and debit payments, as well as check payments, though the latter needs to clear at least a week in advance for your reservation to be valid.
Paying in advance will help not only secure your van and speed up the pick-up process, but it unlocks new opportunities, like telling us where in the San Diego Airport you want us to drop off the van before your arrival.
