Driving a passenger van across the international border requires specialized insurance, mandatory legal paperwork, and strict adherence to rental policies. Please review our official framework below to ensure a safe, legal, and hassle-free journey. ### 1. Driver Eligibility Only pre-authorized drivers explicitly listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle in Mexico. Minimum age is 25, and a valid US or Canadian driver’s license is required. ### 2. Mexico Insurance Standard US insurance is void in Mexico. You must purchase our corporate Mexican Auto Liability Insurance prior to departure. Driving across without authorized coverage is strictly prohibited. ### 3. Critical Paperwork We supply a notarized Travel Authorization Letter, valid vehicle registration copies, and Mexican insurance certificates. Passport books are required for all passengers at the border. ### 4. Fees & Limits A daily cross-border surcharge applies. Vehicles are strictly limited to the state of Baja California, Mexico. Travel to the Mexican Mainland is explicitly prohibited. Please Note: Unpermitted border crossings constitute an immediate breach of contract, voiding all insurance coverage and making the renter fully responsible for any damages or legal penalties.
